Thank you Dan Newhouse

Great news! Congressman Dan Newhouse cosponsored legislation HR 2150 Home Health Care Planning Improvement Act of 2019 yesterday. This legislation will amend Medicare rules (and subsequently Medicaid if successful...) that are limiting nurse practitioners from getting their patients home health care and medical equipment- this is so important for our patients I am so grateful our voices are being heard!

I have to also give thanks and credit to Deanna Diullio, WHNP CNM our Legislative Chair for raising awareness of this issue. Last May Deanna arranged a meeting with Newhouse. During our meeting Congressman Newhouse expressed that he had not been aware of the barriers to providing care that nurse practitioners were meeting and promised to support legislation to remedy these barriers. Now that promise is being upheld. 

Let us all keep making our voices heard- supporting our patients' health is a non-partisan issue people!
