Position Description

Providence Mother and Baby Clinics is seeking an On-Call Certified Nurse Midwife or Family Nurse Practitioner to join their skilled and compassionate team of Lactation Consultants. In this role, you will serve recently delivered mother/baby couplets during the postpartum period in a lactation focused outpatient practice. You will work closely with pediatricians and OB/GYN providers to provide post discharge follow up of both mother and infant with ongoing lactation support for families who elect to breastfeed. This on-call position requires a minimum commitment of 4 days per month including 2 full weekends (Saturday and Sunday) each month, and coverage of one summer and one winter holiday required. There is no after-hours call. The Lactation Consultants provide coverage at Providence Portland Medical Center, Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, Providence Reed’s Crossing Clinic, and Providence Willamette Falls.

  • On-Call, inclusive of two full weekends (Saturday & Sunday) each month, 1 summer and 1 winter holiday each year
  • No call required, no after-hours beyond 6:00pm
  • Open to new graduate Certified Nurse Midwifes or Family Nurse Practitioners with previous postpartum or pediatric RN experience
  • CNM or FNP licensure, DEA licensure, PEARS certification
  • IBCLC certification to be obtained within 12-months of hire with financial assistance from Providence
  • Providence provides malpractice liability insurance
